Project Overview

SOLANCE is a serene yet striking residential complex nestled in the scenic expanse of Scottsdale. Designed as a tranquil living space with resort-like comfort, SOLANCE features a harmonious blend of minimalist architecture and desert-inspired textures. The goal was to create an upscale environment that offers both luxury and peaceful living, reflecting the natural beauty of its surroundings while maintaining modern standards of functionality.

The design celebrates openness and flow, with wide corridors, full-height sliding glass doors, and open-plan living units that let in natural light and panoramic desert views. Materials were carefully selected to be both aesthetic and durable—earth-toned stone, sand-colored concrete, and responsibly sourced wood enhance the regional feel while standing up to the harsh desert climate.

The development includes shared amenities such as a rooftop garden, community pool, shaded lounge areas, and wellness zones. Every space was crafted to encourage relaxation and community interaction. From its architectural rhythm to its landscaped courtyards, SOLANCE was envisioned to embody quiet sophistication and balance.

  • Premium residential complex inspired by Arizona’s desert landscape

  • Open-plan layouts with emphasis on natural light and views

  • Use of locally sourced stone and sustainable materials

Design Challenges

Constructing SOLANCE came with the unique challenge of building in a climate where extreme heat, dryness, and sun exposure had to be considered at every level. Material selection was critical; we had to source finishes and facade materials that would endure high UV exposure without fading or cracking. At the same time, thermal performance was a key factor, leading us to implement shaded exterior walkways, solar screening, and smart ventilation systems.

Another challenge was maintaining a low profile while still achieving spatial generosity. Zoning regulations limited the height and footprint of the structure, requiring creative layout strategies to maximize usable space without making the complex feel overcrowded. We staggered volumes, integrated negative space through internal courtyards, and used elevation shifts to create visual interest.

Finally, the landscape integration required sensitivity. The goal was to preserve native flora and minimize water consumption. Our team collaborated with local horticulturalists to design a xeriscaped environment using drought-tolerant plants, permeable paving, and greywater irrigation systems that ensure long-term sustainability without compromising visual elegance.
